What Should You Blog About?

Most people who want to start a blog get stuck at this stage. They spend weeks trying to come up with the perfect topic. Coming up with a topic doesn’t have to be rocket science that you end taking a whole month(s) trying to brainstorm.

Just ask yourself this questions

What am I passionate about?

What can’t I stop talking about?

What advice do my friends come to me for?

Figure out what you are passionate about. A topic that you can write about for years down the line. Don’t have to be a pro in that field. As long as you are willing to put in the effort in learning more. Remember no one is born a pro, it takes time and dedication to be completely good at something.

Check out this post for more details  secrets to choosing a profitable niche.

Should you niche down?

This is a question where some bloggers will say niche down to only a few topics while others will say it’s not necessary. Am with the latter crowd on this. Reason being there are so many lifestyle blogs out there doing so well. You don’t need to write only one or two topics for you to be successful.

Choosing a blog name.

This is another section that stresses out new bloggers. They want that unique and perfect domain name but forget that what matters most is the content you put out. You might have the coolest name in the blogosphere but if your content doesn’t sell itself then it’s all for nothing.

A few tips to help you come up with a perfect blog name

  • Should be short. Something that would sound mouthful every time you are what your blog name.

  • Easy to spell and to remember

You might have heard the common phrase content is king. Which is very true.

Content is everything.

You need to put out informative posts for your blog to grow. Remember your posts needs to serve a purpose or in other words solve a problem.

Create content that your readers can’t help but share. Try and publish evergreen content.

Since you are just starting out what you can do is join Facebook groups and find out what questions people are asking in the comments section.

  • Proofread your posts

This is a very important step. You need to proofread your work.

Start a blog: Invest in yourself

The best way to grow as a blogger is to invest in yourself. There are so many  ebooks and courses that can take your blog to the next level. They will help you save time from all the hours of research.

The one course I highly recommend is Blog by number course. This is the best course I have ever purchased and I recommend it to anyone who wants to start a blog. The content  is priceless and everyone who is starting  should highly consider it.

Blog by number is a course by Suzi from startamomblog. Its a step by step guide to a money making blog. It’s amazing how she took her blog from $0 to $20,000 in just over a year, crazy right?! She shares everything. All the steps she took to make that happen. She is an open book. She also shares what didn’t work for her, so that you don’t waste time doing the same thing while it doesn’t work.

The biggest highlight for me was Pinterest. The best way to drive massive traffic to your blog as a new blogger is through Pinterest. Before the course, Pinterest was greek for me, I had no clue. I learnt how to edit my pictures, how to create clickable graphics.

Eye-catching graphics are everything when it comes to Pinterest because you want as many people to click through. You also get 480+ group boards in all niches for you to join and you get to know how to email group board owners for you to get a response.

I love the affiliate marketing and SEO tips in that course.

It’s a roadmap to blogging, clears any doubts you might have.

Other topics and bonuses that are included in the course are:
