Your email pitch needs to be strong. It can make or break a potential collaboration.

Dos to observe when writing a perfect email pitch

  •  Your email should be short and precise.

3 paragraphs max with 3 sentences

As bloggers, we all know how precious our time is. Now imagine you are in the Pr team receiving hundreds and hundreds of emails, would you have time to time to read extremely long emails? Of course no.

Make it easy for the person reading.

  • Make it scannable

You can do this by using bullets, numbers and bolding the important bits . This will make it extremely easy to read d one  is able to grasp the best points of your email.

  • Include your direct link

The last thing you want is to have the person on the other end do some extra work. Make sure you have included your blog and your social media accounts URLs.

  • Be original.

I know you are emailing like 10 brands for a collaboration pitch but make sure you edit your email to fit the brand. Give them a genuine compliment. Make sure that every email pitch you send is tailored to the specific campaign.

  • Catchy and short subject line.

You need to craft something appealing. As mentioned earlier the PR team get numerous pitch emails and they can’t be able to go through all of them. So you need to use all the tricks to make sure yours is read.

  • Include your qualitative stats

That is monthly views, engagement rate, and Audience demographics.

All this you can find on google analytics to make sure it’s installed on your blog.

This goes without saying that you only apply for campaigns which are ideal for your readers. You need to uphold your blog authenticity.

You only get one chance to make that first impression, so make it worthwhile.

Make sure you proofread your email. An email full of grammatical errors is a major.

Use Grammarly which is a free online grammar tool to proofread your email.

Don’ts to writing the perfect email pitch to brands for collaborations

Don’t include your include your rates on your first email reason being your prices might be a bit high and you end up scaring the brands away. You also lose your negotiating power maybe the brand was willing to pay you even more.

Are you selling yourself short without knowing?

Most new bloggers  tend to make this mistake as they  try to write a perfect email pitch.

Writing a pitch email can be daunting and sometimes it can feel like you are putting yourself out there.

“Hi, I’m Juelz. I would love an opportunity to partner with Little walk. Am roughly new to blogging, I just started my blog (blog URL) a few months ago. I also have an Instagram account but I don’t have a large following……….”

This is what I mean by putting yourself down. You have just given the brand reasons why they shouldn’t consider you. With such a start no one will even be finishing that email.

If you are just starting you don’t need to highlight how much of a total newbie you are.

You might have a small following which is engaged. A small engaged following is better than having a large following with zero engagement.

Maybe you create awesome content, highlight that in your email.

Your email need to show some positive vibes

How to write a perfect email pitch

The first impression is everything. Make it unforgettable. You need to stand out from the crowd.

Brands want to know how they will benefit from the collaboration.

Simply tell them how you intend to showcase the product. Is it through a video? Will create a tutorial post? Be specific as you can. It’s not the brand’s work to come up with ideas on how they can work with you.

Below is an example of an email pitch to help you brainstorm further.

I’m Juelz.I would love an opportunity to partner with Little walk. I have previously styled some of your shoes on Instagram (here) and I got very good responses. I particularly love your skyscraper boots they are awesome and I always get lots questions every time I wear them.

My audience of 100% female readers who loves fashion. I would love to do a short video on 5 fun ways to style the butterfly shoes. Which would be perfect for this wedding season.

My blog (insert blog URL) is currently gets over 20,000 page views per month and my Instagram account reaches about 10,000 people per post.

I would love to partner with you guys soon!

Thanks in advance.

That can be a perfect email pitch. It’s short, precise and shoes urgency.

It also highlights how i intend to showcase the product(through a short video.)

Should you attach your media kit on the first email?

No, although some might disagree with me. You can do so when the brand asks for your rates.

You still need one,a short one. No one has time to read a 10 page media kit. 2 pages are enough.

That is for today.Hope you have enjoyed and this helpful. If you have any question feel free to reach out.

Are you ready to draft your perfect email pitch now and start landing some sponsored posts?
